Sinewave Energy Solutions can offer a wide range of Commissioning and Testing services. A non-exhaustive list is provided bellow;
Cable Pressure Testing
The insulation of high voltage apparatus must be tested before it is commissioned or re-commissioned after repairs or alterations. We are conversant with the relevant testing equipment needed and the safety procedures that need to be followed in order to complete the required tests safely. We can offer DC & VLF Pressure testing for cables up to 33kV.
We carry out sheath testing or any newly installed cables to ensure that the cable sheath has not been damaged during installation and that there are no manufacturing defects.
Cables Identification and Spiking
Prior to any work commencing on previously energised cables it is important that they are identified correctly . We follow approved procedures set out in the Energy Networks Association Model Distribution Safety rules in order to avoid danger. Once de-energised and identified cables will be spiked in accordance with the correct procedure, before any work is carried out.
“Protection” describes the equipment installed to ensure a system is de-energised in the event of a problem or fault. It will ensure safety to life is maintained and minimise damage to costly equipment while having security of supply in mind.
It is important that a protection system is correctly commissioned so as to minimise down time while providing the level of cover required. Our protection engineers have many years of experience in the industry. We can carry out protection studies, commission and re-commission of equipment to ensure it is functioning exactly as it should.
Dissolved Gas Analysis
Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA) Is the study of dissolved gases in transformer oil. When a fault occurs inside a transformer the insulating oil will break down producing various gases. The identification of these gases and the rate at which they are being produced will be useful information in a maintenance program. We also offer a transformer health checks.
Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)
Portable appliance testing or PAT Testing is the process of checking electrical appliances for safety through a series of visual inspections and electronic test. We have compotent people with the knowledge, skill and experience needed to carry out the inspections and tests required while avoiding danger to themselves and others.
